I believe this piece to be exceptionally beautiful. The various shapes are clearly defined, which is sometimes difficult to do with watercolors, and though the shapes are defined, the contours around the subjects are even more so. Although there are many patterns close to each other, it does not overwhelm the piece with too much 'activity' or 'business'. The patterns are very well arranged. They create a very fluid, natural motion for your eyes to explore. The colors are balanced perfectly. I really love the way the colors blend and fade into each other. I also love the spattering (I don't know what else to call it) of lighter color you put in, mostly in the background. The piece overall has a very magical feel. The feathery pattern on the penguins (I think they're penguins?) reminds me of the traditional art of certain cultures, and the effect created by all the colors makes me think he is consulting with spirits.
I must say, your experiment turned out wonderfully.
I like this one...you have produced an interesting effect with the clown petting the penguin, which is seemingly part of the background; it's pretty cool. I also like the cool colour scheme. Definitely fits with the mood of the piece
I'm really happy you liked the effect!! 8) I'm starting to work with smoky effects and really like it so far so it's fantastic to hear positive feedback~ Thanks so much!!
I really love the playful colors here, and the way you incorporated all of the patterns into the outfit and background! And the white outlines add some beautiful effects to the already stunning background!

Nicely done. Consider it favourited
Thanks so much!!
